Burning Torch

From the office

The old saying, "Time flies when you're having fun," seems more and more obvious as each year passes. Three years ago the Association Board decided to take on their first Special Project. The Association raised the money to landscape the High School grounds and have a sprinkler system installed. The grounds around the School have never looked better. Can an old graduate get landscaped?

The second Special Project, The Ray Farrant History Room, was picked a year later. The alumni raised $37,200 and the project was completed in the summer of 2009. The students have had use of this room for the school year 2009-2010. The results are very positive in appreciation by the students and outstanding in appearance.

The third Special Project, the Ruth Scott English/Journalism Room will be completed this summer (2010). Our alumni raised $35,000 dollars this past year and believe the results will be as positive as our previous endeavors.

The Fourth Special Project, the Mary Adams Math Room, is being kicked off now and hopefully this will be completed for the renovation to take place in the summer of 2011.

Our projects are designed to do the following:
    1. Place education of our students in the forefront.
    2. Show the students in the classroom environment that they have a large booster club.
    3. Have classrooms with little to no future maintenance.
    4. Have classrooms that state to prospective business people the quality education their children will receive in Enid.

The association has also donated $4,000 dollars to the Constitutional teams to go to Washington D.C. to compete in the national contest on the United States Constitution.

To date, Alumni have donated a total of $109,369 to our Alma Mater - - -
